National PPO Network
Healthplex is pleased to announce our new National PPO Network with over 519,000 nationwide dental access points, providing members the care and access they deserve. This extensive new network offers unmatched flexibility and the ability to customize coverage levels - keeping members and their families healthy and smiling.
Managed Care Plans
Our new Managed Care plans are designed to help employers meet their budget while providing comprehensive coverage for the oral health of their employees. The Managed Care Plans have an extensive network of over 6,000 dental access points in New York and New Jersey, getting employees the care they need and providing the freedom to choose a dentist from our large network of trusted providers. Our Managed Care Plans combine the advantages of extensive care from a Primary Care Dentist with a broad range of services to keep employees smiling.
We offer a wide variety of dental plans, which fall into the following categories:
DHMO (Dental Health Maintenance Organization Plan)
These plans are insured managed care plans. Services are provided through a network of participating dentists with no claim forms, maximums or deductibles. Preventive and diagnostic services are covered without any cost to you. Members must select a family dentist from this network and all services are received from this primary dentist. If needed, your primary dentist can refer you to an in-network specialist. There is no out-of-network coverage.
PPO (Preferred Provider Organization Plan)
In these plans our network of providers accept a fixed schedule of allowances as payment in full for services. The member pays any difference between the plan reimbursement and this scheduled amount. Members can use any dentist within the network at any time or use a dentist outside the network. However, reimbursement is subject to deductibles and maximums.
Discount Dental Plan
These plans are a non-insurance product where dental care providers within the plan network agree to accept a discounted fee, usually 10% to 60% on most dental procedures. Typically, there is no paperwork to deal with.
ASO or Administrative Services Only Plan
With these plans, an arrangement is set up where a group employs a third party to handle the administrative tasks (e.g. billing, claims handling, payment) of the plan for their members. ASO plans exclude the assumption of risk to the third party and are therefore not insurance.
Selecting a plan type comes down to convenience, flexibility and cost. PPO plans offer the most convenience and flexibility, but with higher premiums and out-of pocket costs. DHMO plans offer less convenience and flexibility but at a relatively low cost.
